Schorl (black tourmaline)

Schorl is a variety of black tourmaline, belonging to the silicate group, with a complex composition particularly rich in iron, boron, and aluminum. It is characterized by its deep black color, vitreous luster, and often striated prismatic crystals.

It primarily forms in granitic pegmatites, often associated with quartz and feldspars.
