Sphalerite (zinc blende)

Sphalerite (blende) is a mineral from the sulfide group, composed of zinc sulfide (ZnS). It exhibits colors ranging from yellow, brown, and red to black, with a resinous to adamantine luster.

It primarily forms in hydrothermal deposits, often associated with galena, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and calcite.
