Shungite

Shungite is a carbon-rich rock, mainly composed of amorphous carbon and various mineral phases. It is distinguished by its black to grey-black colour, and its matte to slightly shiny appearance.

There is also classic shungite and Elite shungite, which is rarer and particularly rich in carbon. It is mainly found in Karelia, Russia, particularly in the Lake Onega region.
