Pietersite

Pietersite is a rare siliceous rock composed primarily of fibrous quartz, related to tiger's eye and hawk's eye. It is distinguished by its swirling patterns and remarkable chatoyancy effects, revealing blue, golden, brown, red, or gray reflections depending on the light's orientation. Formed by the fracturing and recrystallization of silicified crocidolite fibers, it presents a unique appearance often described as a "storm in stone." The main deposits are located in Namibia and China, where the most sought-after specimens are found for their spectacular colors and structures.
