Mica schist is a metamorphic rock rich in micas, mainly muscovite and biotite, often accompanied by quartz, feldspar, and sometimes garnet, tourmaline, or staurolite. It is characterized by its foliated and schistose structure, due to the orientation of mica crystals, and generally exhibits silvery, golden, gray, brown, or greenish hues.
Formed under high pressure and temperature, it can contain magnificent, well-developed crystals and varied mineral associations.
