Lepidolite is a mineral from the mica group, belonging to the phyllosilicate family, primarily composed of lithium, potassium, aluminum, and silicon. Its general chemical formula is K(Li,Al)₃(Si,Al)₄O₁₀(F,OH)₂. It occurs in sheets or lamellar aggregates in pink, lilac, violet, gray, or white colors, notably due to the presence of lithium and manganese.
It is mainly found in granitic pegmatites, often associated with quartz, tourmaline, or beryl. Its shiny crystals and pastel shades make it a highly prized mineral among collectors.
