Larimar

Larimar is a rare variety of pectolite, a calcium and sodium silicate with the formula NaCa₂Si₃O₈(OH), whose light blue to turquoise color is due to traces of copper. It features natural patterns reminiscent of tropical waters, with shades ranging from white, sky blue, to deep volcanic blue.

Discovered only in the Dominican Republic, in the Barahona region, larimar forms in volcanic rocks and is often associated with calcite and other minerals. Its rarity, unique origin, and colors evoking the Caribbean Sea make it a highly prized stone in jewelry and for collectors.
