Bumblebee jasper is a rare ornamental rock known for its spectacular patterns in bright yellow, orange, grey, and black, reminiscent of a bumblebee's stripes. Despite its trade name, it is not a true jasper: it is primarily a volcanic rock formed in hydrothermal environments, rich in calcite, aragonite, pyrite, and sulfide minerals.
Mainly originating from Java Island in Indonesia, it features unique patterns created by the different mineralization phases.
