Gyrolite is a rare mineral from the phyllosilicate group, composed of hydrated calcium silicate (Ca₁₆Si₂₄O₆₀(OH)₈·14H₂O). It occurs as small spherical aggregates or rosettes, colored white, colorless, cream to pale gray, with a pearly to silky luster.
It forms in cavities within volcanic rocks, often in association with zeolites, apophyllite, stilbite, or okenite. The finest specimens, primarily from Maharashtra (India), are prized for their delicate crystalline rosettes and elegant mineral associations.
