Fuchsite is a variety of muscovite, belonging to the mica group, enriched with chromium which gives it its characteristic emerald green to intense green color. Composed mainly of hydrous potassium aluminum silicate (KAl₂(AlSi₃O₁₀)(OH)₂) with traces of chromium, it appears in brilliant, flexible sheets typical of micas.
Found in metamorphic rocks, it is often associated with quartz, corundum, or tourmaline. Fuchsite specimens are prized for their shimmering reflections and exceptional natural green color.
