Cobaltoadamite is a rare variety of adamite enriched in cobalt, belonging to the arsenate group. It is distinguished by its magnificent pink, purple, mauve to purplish-red colors, due to the presence of cobalt which replaces part of the zinc in its structure. It generally forms small prismatic crystals or aggregates on zinc and arsenic-rich matrices. The best-known specimens come from Chihuahua (Mexico) and the Ojuela Mine, where it is often associated with adamite, smithsonite, or limonite.
