Cobalt-dolomite

Cobaltodolomite is a variety of cobalt-rich dolomite, belonging to the carbonate group. It is characterized by its crystals with pale pink to raspberry pink hues, sometimes associated with violet or mauve shades, due to the presence of cobalt. It forms in hydrothermal cobalt and copper deposits, often in association with calcite, malachite, azurite, or cobaltoan calcite. Specimens from Katanga (Democratic Republic of Congo) are particularly known for their beautiful colors and well-developed crystals.
