Clinozoisite is a mineral from the epidote group, composed of calcium, aluminum, and iron silicate (Ca₂Al₃(SiO₄)(Si₂O₇)O(OH)). It typically occurs as prismatic crystals, usually pale green, yellowish-green to colorless, with a vitreous luster.
It primarily forms in metamorphic rocks and is often found associated with epidote, quartz, feldspar, or calcite. Its well-developed crystals are sought after by collectors for their transparency and elegant crystal habit.
