Cerussite is a rare mineral composed of lead carbonate (PbCO₃), formed by the alteration of galena in the oxidation zones of lead deposits. It is characterized by its often colorless, white, or gray crystals, with an exceptional adamantine luster reminiscent of diamond.
Its crystals can form prisms, star-shaped twins, or spectacular aggregates. The most remarkable specimens come notably from Namibia, Morocco, England, and Mexico.
