Ammonites are now extinct marine mollusks, which died out approximately 66 million years ago during the same mass extinction event as the non-avian dinosaurs. Depending on their deposit, specimens can be approximately 95 million years old in Morocco, 120 million years old in Madagascar, 150 million years old in Ulyanovsk (Russia), or 180 million years old in Germany.
