Albite is a mineral from the plagioclase feldspar group, composed of sodium and aluminum silicate (NaAlSi₃O₈). It occurs as tabular or prismatic crystals, generally white, colorless, gray, or slightly bluish, with a vitreous to pearly luster. Found in magmatic and metamorphic rocks, it is often associated with quartz, tourmaline, amazonite, or fluorite.
The most beautiful specimens, particularly those from Pakistan, Brazil, Switzerland, and Austria, are prized for their well-developed crystals and elegant mineral associations.
